We are working on a proposal turning an old agricultural shed which is only used for tractors and various tools, into two well made homes. Our proposal seeks to maintain the outwardly agricultural appearance of the shed so that it still fits in with the surrounding area. We then propose to create a modern open plan living space on the inside which is filled with natural light to create a warm comfortable home.
During this early design stage of the project we have carried out an environmental impact assessment using a similar method to the Home Quality Mark One. Currently we expect this refurbishment to reach a good rating across a range of financial, wellbeing, environmental and social issues. As design progresses into further stages we expect it to achieve more points and potentially achieve a "very good" or "excellent" rating similar to that of a code level 6 home.
